Industrial and Especial ProjectsAction on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) – Delivery Partnership with Oxfordshire County Council
CAESL is a delivery partner for Oxfordshire County Council’s Action on Carbon and Energy in Schools (ACES) programme, supporting schools across the county to reduce energy consumption, cut carbon emissions, and improve the long‑term sustainability of their buildings.
ACES provides schools with practical, data‑driven support to understand their energy use and identify opportunities for improvement. As part of this programme, CAESL delivers:
- Free on‑site energy assessments for participating schools
- Detailed technical reports outlining energy‑saving measures, costs, and expected carbon reductions
- Support with the OCC interest‑free loan scheme, enabling schools to implement upgrades such as LED lighting, heating improvements, and solar PV
- Workshops, training, and engagement sessions for school leaders, site teams, and business managers
- Ongoing advisory support to help schools plan, prioritise, and deliver decarbonisation actions
This partnership strengthens the county’s commitment to reducing emissions from the education estate while helping schools manage rising energy costs.
Through ACES, schools gain:
- Clear visibility of their energy performance
- Tailored recommendations for reducing consumption
- Access to funding mechanisms that remove financial barriers
- Increased confidence in planning and delivering sustainability projects
- Long‑term reductions in operational costs and carbon footprint
CAESL’s role ensures that each school receives high‑quality technical guidance and practical support, enabling them to take meaningful steps toward a more energy‑efficient and climate‑resilient future.
