Working closely with Connaught Care and the management team at The Chase Care Home, our project embarked on a comprehensive journey to achieve significant environmental and operational enhancements, crucial for supporting the elderly and individuals with special needs.

• • Energy and Water Technical Audit: Our initiative began with a detailed technical audit of The Chase Care Home’s energy and water systems in late February 2024. Utilizing specialized instruments such as power analysers and thermal cameras, we comprehensively assessed the building’s insulation, heating, water, and lighting systems to identify current efficiencies and areas needing improvement.

• • Innovative and Renewable Energy Solutions: We conducted feasibility studies for the integration of renewable energy solutions, such as 68 kW solar PV panels and a 48 kW solar carport, into the existing infrastructure. These studies not only supported our sustainability goals but also unveiled significant potential for energy and water savings.

• • Detailed Energy and Water Analysis: Our analysis included extensive evaluations of:
    – Assessing loft and heating system insulation to reduce heat loss.
    – Analyzing temperature set points and lux metering in various areas of the facility.
    – Reviewing the use of sensors for air purifiers to optimize energy consumption.
    – Considering the implementation of a rainwater harvesting system to reduce water usage.

    – And several others.

    These thorough analyses have helped us gain a comprehensive understanding of the facility’s energy and water usage, pinpointing key opportunities for improvements.

• • Strategic Carbon Footprint Reduction and Net Zero Strategy: Moving forward, we will calculate the carbon footprint of The Chase Care Home and develop a meticulously planned Net Zero strategy. This ongoing project aims to guide The Chase through their short-term and mid-term journey toward achieving Net Zero, aligning with the global imperative for sustainability and environmental responsibility.
